Hello and Welcome!

This is your new page that you can edit online!

Four Floating Columns

Each page has four columns.

Three columns are for text and images etc.

They are floating columns, meaning their size changes depending on what is in the other columns. You can see on this page they are not equal.

The fourth column is for the menu - but you can also use it.

Content Elements

The columns are filled with content elements - small blocks of information that can be text, images or other web tools like forms.

You can create, edit and delete those content elements. You can also move them around.

Editing a content element.

The picture below shows your editing pencil. Click on the real pencil below this text and the pencil will open an editing form. This is how you edit the content elements of your web page. It's that easy.

NOTE: It always takes longer to load the editor the first time you start a session. After that it's quicker.

Click the editing pencil to open an existing content element editing form.

To create a new content element

1. Hold your mouse over the edit bar icons. They will pop up a window to say what they do. Choose "New Record After".

You are asked to choose what TYPE of content element you want.

For now - choose a). Text b). Text with image or c). Image.

Then you are asked where you want it to go. Choose a column - you can move it later.

The (front_end) editing bar with "New Record After" circled in red.

How to Save

The firts image below shows...

a). Save

b). Save and View

c). Save and Close

d). Close (no save)

e) Delete

The icons are always at the top and bottom of your content editing form. Depending where you are on the site - these options can look a little different (like the botton image). In most cases you either Save or Save and Close.

NOTE: Save early and often!

Save early and often when creating new content elements. These save options are the ones you'll use later.
This "Save" and "Save and Close" option is the one you'll use the most to start with.

Now What?
All these help features and tutorials are in the Help Centre.

Go through the page and delete all the content elements you don't need to make the page your own work of art. If you delete everything ... there is a special editing panel at the bottom of the page to help you start again.

Try NOT to delete the email form. It has your email address stored in it so Spammers cannot find it - and other people can contact you easily.

Don't think too hard about your page - just start now - you can always edit it later - it's your page - and you are the exclusive editor of this page.

NOTE: You are always deleting the content above the editing bar.

Delete is a great thing - but - it can bite! Choose wisely. Delete the material above the line.

Help is Close at Hand

If in doubt - try to make a mistake.

It's the best thing you can do!

This software is very powerful and with all those choices it can be confusing at first. Try and try and try again.

If you need some help, go to our Help Centre in the main menu or email us with your query and we'll get back to you as soon as possible.

We can provide training in Bombala or Delegate and can help you make the most of your new web pages.

Have a Go!

Open up your sense of adventure. Try everything. What is the worst that can happen?

The real problem is that you do not know what this site will do - so that is the first thing to do - learn what the content editor will do - what you are able to do.

It does take time to learn - which is something to look forward to. There are few limits to what you can do.

All this means you are in charge of your own website - and by the time you read this your are much better informed than when you started.

See you soon!
